Yuji Watanabe

After assuming the position of President and Representative Director in 2002, Yuji Watanabe defined Gigaphoton’s mission as being “to provide support and deliver light source technologies with a focus on solving user problems," and has demonstrated formidable leadership skills in Gigaphoton’s corporate activities. Watanabe himself has a passion for technological renovation, and maintains a consistent business style for resolving technological problems together with users.

Since joining Komatsu in 1982, Watanabe has undertaken to commercialize and create new lines of business for high-tech industrial devices. He has been deeply involved in the excimer laser business, such as by advancing business at Komatsu as the first Excimer Laser Department Manager in 1996 and participating in the launch of Gigaphoton in 2000.

Has a doctorate from Tokyo University in mechanical engineering.

◆ Director, Executive Officer, Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Hakaru Mizoguchi

Hakaru Mizoguchi has been a part of Gigaphoton’s management since its founding, endeavoring primarily to advance research and development. He was previously affiliated with Komatsu’s Research Headquarters, and has concentrated his efforts since 1990 on the KrF, ArF, and F₂ lasers for exposure devices as well as EUV light sources in particular.
Mizoguchi has experience researching for two years as a guest researcher at the Max Planck Research Institute in Göttingen, Germany.

Has a doctorate from Kyushu University in the field of lasers. Member of SPIE, the Laser Society of Japan, and the Japan Society of Applied Physics.

◆ Director, Senior Executive Officer
Hitoshi Tomaru

Hitoshi Tomaru has been with the management team of Gigaphoton since its foundation and also served as a senior executive officer. Tomaru joined Komatsu Ltd. in 1982 and served as General Manager of its Excimer Laser Department in 2000 before he joined Gigaphoton. Since joining Gigaphoton, he has served in a number of management positions, including General Manager of the Development Division, General Manager of the Production Division, and the General Manager of the European and US Sales Division. He has rich experience in a broad range of business fields.

Hideichi Sato

Hideichi Sato has been with the management team of Gigaphoton since its foundation and also served as a senior executive officer. Sato joined Komatsu Ltd. in 1983. Since joining Gigaphoton, he served as General Manager of the Product Planning Department, General Manager of the Corporate Planning Department, and General Manager of the General Administration Department.
He participated in management of the company from a marketing and planning viewpoint.
