Gigaphoton has started to ship G40A ArF Excimer Laser |
 |
ArF excimer laser production model G40A, featuring 193n-m
wavelength, 4-kHz repetition rate, 5-mJ pulse energy, and
20-W output power, was shipped to litho-manufacturers in
November 2000. High throughput and lower running cost of
the G40A makes it possible to introduce ArF excimer lasers
for production fabs.

Gigaphoton establishment ceremony |
 |
On
September 12, Gigaphoton held an official establishment ceremony
at the Palace Hotel, Tokyo, inviting 300 people from the semiconductor
industry, press, and academic community. Mr. Ushio, Chairman
of Ushio, and Mr. Anzaki, President of Komatsu, represented
the parent companies of Gigaphoton at the ceremony. Mr. Sugimoto,
Gigaphoton President and COO, made an opening address. He said
that Ushio, a leader of g- and I-line mercury lamps for the
semiconductor industry, and Komatsu, a fast growing company
in excimer lasers, could have a synergistic effect through
this joint venture and could offer top quality products and
service. He mentioned that the corporate policy is "contributing
to society through high technology and quality products as
a global company of excimer lasers." The consolidation
of Ushio and Komatsu in the development, production, and customer
support fields will offer faster development and better products
and service, resulting in increased customer satisfaction.
In this way, the corporate policy can be materialized, he said. |
