In 2020, Gigaphoton celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking a fresh start for 2021 - looking forward to the next 20 years. While retaining its position as industry leader in excimer lasers for semiconductor lithography, Gigaphoton will rapidly expand its business to new markets, developing EUV and next-generation light sources for new applications. President & Chief Executive Officer
Katsumi Uranaka joined Komatsu Ltd. in 1984 where he was in charge of manufacturing and engineering. After the establishment of Gigaphoton, he served in positions that include General Manager of the Production Division and Global Subsidiaries Management Division, and he was appointed as President and CEO in April 2017. He is actively working in line with the company’s principle of “providing products with the best technology and quality.” His goal is for Gigaphoton to continue to grow together with stakeholders.
Senior Executive Officer & Chief Operating Officer
Ever since joining Komatsu Ltd. in 1996, Tatsuo Enami has primarily been involved in R&D. After the establishment of Gigaphoton, he served in positions that include General Manager of the Marketing Division and Sales Division, and he was appointed as Director in June 2017. As General Manager of the Business Strategy Division since April 2021, he has overseen divisions related to areas such as sales and corporate planning, and he is involved in the management of the company.

Takashi Saito was transferred as a loan employee from Ushio Inc. to Gigaphoton in 2000 when the company was founded, and since officially joining the company in 2010, he has primarily been involved in R&D. He was appointed as Director in June 2017 after serving in positions that include Deputy General Manager of Development Division, General Manager of Customer Support Division, and General Manager of EUV Development Division. He has overseen the R&D Division as General Manager since April 2021 and is involved in the management of the company.

Ever since joining Komatsu Ltd. in 1990, Satoru Bushida has primarily been involved in R&D. He has served in positions that include General Manager of the Development and Sales Department, Defense Systems Division at Komatsu Ltd. and General Manager of the Laser Development Department at Gigaphoton. He was then appointed as Director in June 2021. He oversees the Production and Customer Support Divisions as General Manager and is involved in the management of the company.
Senior Executive Officer & Chief Financial Officer
Ever since joining Komatsu Ltd. in 1985, Masato Uchikura has primarily been involved with the Administrative Division. He has served in positions that include Director at Komatsu Indonesia and General Manager of Planning & Administration Department, Defense Systems Division at Komatsu Ltd. He was then appointed as Director at Gigaphoton in June 2021. He oversees the Administrative Division and is involved in the management of the company.
Hakaru Mizoguchi joined Komatsu Ltd. in 1982. He first engaged in the development of CO2 lasers, and for two years from 1988, he conducted research on excimer lasers as a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science in Göttingen, Germany. Later, he received his doctorate from Kyushu University, and in 1988 became General Manager of the Research Division, Komatsu Ltd. He has been involved in management since the founding of Gigaphoton, and has served as General Manager of Research Department, Development Department, CS Department, and as Vice President & CTO of the company. During this time, he conducted research and development of KrF lasers, ArF lasers, F2 lasers, and EUV light sources for exposure devices. As a Senior Fellow since June 2020, he is working on the growth of Gigaphoton’s technical research and nurturing the next generation.
