ギガフォトン株式会社（本社: 栃木県小山市、代表取締役社長: 都丸 仁　以下ギガフォトン）は、2013年4月1日より、ギガフォトンの中国におけるサービス代理店をScientech Corp. Shanghai（以下　Scientech社）から小松（中国）投資有限公司（Komatsu（China）Ltd.）に移管し、事業活動を開始したと発表しました。ギガフォトンは小松（中国）投資有限公司を通じて、露光装置メーカー各社と共にお客さまとなる半導体メーカーの新規開拓を積極的に展開するほか、中国内のサービスサポート拠点を中心にギガフォトン社製半導体露光用エキシマレーザのお客さまに対する現地サポート体制の一層の強化に取り組みます。

ギガフォトンは、今までScientech社をサービス代理店として、中国におけるギガフォトンのエキシマレーザー事業を展開してきました。この度、Scientech社とギガフォトン間でのサービス代理店契約の満了に伴い、ギガフォトンの親会社であるコマツ（Komatsu Ltd.）の地域統括会社である小松（中国）投資有限公司内にサービスサポート体制を移管することとなりました。なお、このたびの移管に際し、小松（中国）投資有限公司は、お客さまへ従来の高品質なサービスサポートをシームレスに提供すべく、Scientech社による最大限のサポートの元、4月1日に光学機器事業部を設立し、Scientech社のエキシマレーザーサービス人員を小松（中国）投資有限公司に移管しております。

OYAMA, JAPAN; April 1, 2013 — Gigaphoton, Inc., a major lithography light source manufacturer, announced today that as of April 1, 2013, it has delegated Komatsu (China) Ltd. (“Komatsu (China)”) to take the place of Scientech Corp. Shanghai (“Scientech”) as its new service representative in China, and has commenced business operations under the former. Through Komatsu (China), Gigaphoton will aggressively promote new business opportunities to find potential customers in China by teaming up with lithography system manufacturers as well as further reinforce its local technical support system centered on its service support bases in China for existing Chinese customers of Gigaphoton excimer lasers for semiconductor lithography systems.

Until now, Gigaphoton has developed its excimer laser business in China with Scientech as its service representative. With that agreement having expired, Gigaphoton elected to transfer its service support framework to Komatsu (China), a regional supervisory company under Gigaphoton’s parent company Komatsu Ltd. Moreover, in order to ensure the seamless transfer of the high-quality service support provided to clientele up until now, on the occasion of its new delegation as Gigaphoton’s service representative, Komatsu (China) has established an Optical Instruments Business Department on April 1 with the full support of Scientech, and has accepted the transfer of excimer laser service personnel from Scientech.

Through its close network with Komatsu (China), Gigaphoton will continue to offer speedy, top-level service support to its clients in China, which has been positioned as a vital site of operations in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
